THE NATURE OF THE FUNCTION OF THE ACADEMY

Some of the Sahitya Akademi's programs are fixed and periodic. Organizing Workshops Arranging seminars Funding for collaborative programs of various organizations. Offering prizes for books belonging to different genres of literature. Giving awards to prestigious literature. Publishing a quarterly newspaper and various annual compilation and other books. In addition, the bylaws for the functioning of the Academy have been set out in these Bylaws, which clearly state the financial policy that the Academy must follow in every program, publication and other procedures of the Academy. This has resulted in a specific framework for the functioning of the academy.

Travel grant:
Kannada authors go to other Indian languages ​​outside Karnataka to undertake a literary cultural tour which introduces authors and literary institutions. Thus, creative works written by tour writers are published under the name Travel Literature Male.

Seminar: The
Academy itself grants organizations that organize seminars and conducts seminars in collaboration with various literary societies. Each year, many organizations are funded to conduct a merger.

Workshops:
Two workshops a year are held in different parts of Karnataka in different genres of literature for emerging authors. About 30 emerging authors participate in each workshop. Discourses and lectures are organized by scholars who specialize in that field.

Grants for Literary Short Papers: Literary miniatures
will be funded by the advertisement of the Academy in order to promote the basic work of literary newspapers . About 4-5 newspapers are funded each year.

Youth Poetry Conference:
A Poetry Conference is held every year under the name “Youth Poetry Convention”, in which poems are selected by a review committee from among the poets who are 30 years old and come from each of the Kannada poets. The academy is publishing the poetic poem titled "Yuva Kavya" at this conference.

Donation of Books:
Kannada books worth Rs. 2,000 in addition to academy publications are being distributed to the Sangha organizations outside Karnataka in order to help the Kannadigas in other linguistic circles to build a library there.

Publications:
Minority, poetry, criticism, essay, children's literature, fun literature published in magazines, the best of these articles are published annually. In addition to these annual collections of the academy, a collection of essays from the Academy's seminars is being released in book form.

The Academy is bringing out a bi-weekly newspaper to inform the academy's programs to the literate.

With the objective of bringing Kannada and global literary introduction to Kannada language through translation, Kannada Aniketana magazine and Kannada literature for non-Kannada literature is being introduced. What is special is that the academy's quarterly journal, Aniketana (Kannada and English) is devoted to full translation.

'Indian Literary Survey' and 'Literary Terminology' have been published as part of the Sahitya Akademi's Silver Day. A book called 'row lamps' has been published which introduces the life and works of literature which is a part of the Hosanagadda literature. An updated version of this is coming out.

Book Prize: The
Academy awards prizes for the best books in 18 literary genres that are first published in Kannada every year. In addition, the Creative and Non-Creative category is also being rewarded for the year's best. Due to the contribution of the 'Amerindanada' associations and the Kannadigas, the Sahitya Academy has been rewarded with a creative work translated from Kannada to English.

Honorary Awards:
Each year, five Kannada literary figures who have contributed immensely to Kannada literature will be honored each year.

Internet Site: The
Kannada Sahitya Akademi has created an internet site to provide activities and other information on Kannada literature to mirror artists from around the world.
